The 2026 Nissan Murano arrives with a highly advanced 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine, replacing the outgoing V6 to deliver a remarkable 260 pound-feet of torque. This variable compression technology gives drivers the instant passing power needed to navigate congested I-35E traffic safely during a Lewisville rush hour. As your trusted local source for this completely redesigned crossover, Nissan of Lewisville in Lewisville, TX provides the verified specifications and trim details you need to make an informed decision.

This guide covers the intelligent all-wheel-drive system, massive digital displays, and premium interior dimensions that make this platform stand out. Read on to discover which configuration best suits your daily commute.

Performance and Engine Specs

The most fascinating engineering achievement of the 2026 Murano is the implementation of the advanced 2.0-liter Variable Compression Turbo engine. This remarkable powerplant physically alters its internal piston stroke on the fly. This means the engine instantly lowers its compression ratio to deliver maximum turbocharged power when you need to pass a slow-moving truck, and raises the compression ratio to maximize fuel efficiency while cruising steadily. Producing 241 horsepower and a robust 260 pound-feet of torque, this four-cylinder setup completely outperforms the outgoing naturally aspirated powertrains in terms of low-end response.

Nissan pairs this innovative engine with a highly responsive nine-speed automatic transmission. This traditional stepped-gear transmission provides a more engaging and predictable driving feel. Paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel allow you to manually dictate gear changes when you want a more spirited driving experience. Standard Idle Stop Start technology automatically shuts the engine off at red lights to conserve fuel, restarting instantly when you lift your foot off the brake.

The structural foundation includes an independent strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension equipped with twin-tube shock absorbers. This setup delivers a buttery smooth ride over pothole-ridden city streets while maintaining excellent stability at highway speeds. You can experience this refined powertrain firsthand by exploring our new Nissan Murano inventory. The combination of turbocharging and stepped gearing completely transforms the crossover's driving dynamics, providing a remarkably sophisticated experience. The table below outlines the specific performance metrics for this configuration.

Capabilities

The 2026 Murano is engineered with standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive across every single trim level. This advanced drivetrain provides a massive advantage during unpredictable Texas weather. The system continuously monitors wheel slip and instantly transfers power to the rear wheels the moment it detects a loss of traction. This gives you the absolute confidence to navigate sudden torrential downpours near Grapevine Lake without losing your grip on the road. When the pavement is completely dry, the system operates primarily in front-wheel drive to maximize your EPA-estimated fuel economy.

To accommodate buyers with active lifestyles, this crossover offers a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds when properly equipped. This rating is perfect for hauling a pair of personal watercraft to the lake or pulling a small utility trailer loaded with landscaping supplies. The vehicle features a minimum ground clearance of 8.3 inches, giving you plenty of room to easily clear steep driveway approaches or flooded intersections without scraping the undercarriage. A standard drive mode selector allows you to fine-tune the throttle and steering response based on your current driving conditions. Buyers prioritizing all-weather stability can review our AWD SUV inventory to see the latest arrivals.

The combination of the intelligent all-wheel-drive system and the variable compression engine ensures that you never have to sacrifice daily efficiency to gain weekend capability. Furthermore, the brake system utilizes large ventilated disc brakes on all four corners, featuring Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist. This heavy-duty braking architecture ensures you can safely bring a loaded trailer to a complete stop even in emergency situations. Whether you are commuting through heavy traffic or taking a weekend trip across the state, this crossover possesses the mechanical hardware to handle the journey.

Trim Lineup and Key Features

The newly streamlined gradewalk for the 2026 model year consists of three highly curated trim levels: SV, SL, and Platinum. The mid-level SL grade caters to tech-savvy families by introducing Google built-in software, a panoramic moonroof, and a premium audio system. The flagship Platinum grade transforms the crossover into a true luxury vehicle, adding massive wheels, semi-aniline leather upholstery, and highly advanced semi-autonomous driving features.

Exterior Design and Utility

The exterior architecture of the 2026 Murano is a striking departure from traditional crossover styling, defined by elegantly sculpted body panels and an aggressive, wide stance. The front fascia is dominated by ultra-thin LED headlights that flank a modernized V-motion grille. These highly advanced headlights cast a brilliant, wide beam of light that pierces through dark, unlit rural roads, vastly improving your nighttime visibility. At the rear, a full-width LED tail light creates a highly distinctive lighting signature that ensures your vehicle is instantly recognizable from a distance.

Nissan designers paid careful attention to aerodynamic efficiency, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.34. This sleek shape allows the crossover to cut through the air with minimal wind resistance, which directly reduces cabin wind noise and improves highway fuel economy. The side profile is highlighted by massive 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels on the SV and SL grades, while the Platinum grade upgrades to stunning 21-inch wheels that completely fill the wheel wells for a premium, concept-car appearance. Standard acoustic dampening glass on the front doors further isolates the interior from the chaotic noise of highway traffic.
